Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) can be defined as the color of white light a light source is emitting. CCT is measured in Kelvin (K). The different color temperatures along the Kelvin scale correlate with different shades of white light, all of which impact how an individual perceives the space. LED lights are typically grouped into 3 different color temperatures: warm white, natural white, and cool white. Warm white gives off a yellow shade of light, natural light closely resembles the color of light given off from the sun, and cool light has a slightly blue tint to it.

In some instances, LED lights can be tunable white or selectable white. Selectable white allows you to select between multiple different color temperatures, and choose one at the time of installation. Tunable white allows you to control the LED light with a controller and fine tune it to whatever color temperature you would like without the need to only choose between a few set options.

LED lights may come in different colors such as red, green, blue, and more. When a bulb comes in a color other than a shade of white, it does not have a CCT value and is instead represented by the color it emits. LED bulbs can be purchased as single colors, or they can be purchased as RGB, which allows the light to change color, giving multiple color options in one.

There are LED lights that also come with combinations of white and colors. These are often referred to as RGB+Warm White, RGB+Natural White, RGB+Cool White, and RGB+Tunable White. These provide the option of colored and white lights all in one. These types of lights are simply controlled by a remote or a smartphone application.

An SAE mark means that the Society of Automotive Engineers has tested a product to ensure that it follows guidelines, standards, and practices in regard to design, construction, and materials.
